Joseph Murumbi Zuzarte was a Goan-Maasai who was educated mostly in India. He joined the independence movement in Kenya, a friend of Pio Pinto and Fitz de Souza. He was appointed the Vice President of Kenya after Oginga Odinga resigned after a dispute with the president Jomo Kenyatta. He resigned after six months for personal reasons and dedicated the rest of his life collecting and exhibiting African art and literature.
He and his wife are buried in the Nairobi City Patk, close to the grave of Pio Pinto. http://mezosfera.org/the-legacy-of-joseph-murumbi-making-a-collection-and-archive-as-freedom-fighting%EF%BB%BF/
