Just for you, I took about 25 VCDs from over 300 lot. for reference purpose It seems there are recording studios and post recording studios It also appear that there are some ‘makeshift’ types of Studio too. Prominent amongst them are: Magic Touch Studios (Chris Correia/Margao) Rajesh Bhosale (in Pune) Whitney Studio (near Domino Piza, Margao) Manfa productions (producers 2715692/2730070) -Big player Home Video (Joywin Fernandes Cortalim 9822487270) Cat Vidio Digital Creations (2315843) Ponda? Lens Recording Studio (Sirlim) Vidio World Productions Shyamsundar Productions/Studio VinSan Events Management (St. Inez) Marpi Film Studio – Cansaulim Market Acoustica Studio Exodus Studio – Navelim, Ravora Plus you have your friend AngelAV c/o Purple Rain band New Player (about a year old) There is one new and very busy and gaining fast popularity. (RR Studio?) owner is Alwyn Fernandes at Velsao (he does it from home). Also, understand many well known tiatrists been here for their recording work. Best you can do is contact the VCD producers/Shops VP Sinaris Music House Mapusa opp. Fish Market 9822167757 – 265774 (good chap, konkani speaking, Hindu) Rock n Raga they will give you the input you need As for the total VCD produced and in my collection.. As of April 2010 there were at least 310 I have temporarily stopped giving regular updates since then (after Rajan Narayan's damaging Stray Thoughts) From May till now there must be at least 10-15 new VCDs. Generally VCDs quality seems good (except when recorded live on stage) and improving day by day with more modern techniques I do not buy or collect ACDs Any further info, I will pass on to you. Quote: Dear all: Since I plan to write a short article on Goa's recording studios, I would be grateful if anyone could point me to interesting and innovative studios that exist in Goa. How effective are these? Did you records there, and what was your experience like? Importantly, how do these studios compare with those elsewhere? I know expats like Silviano Barbosa have undertaken recording work during their short sojourns in Goa and/or Mumbai. Fausto Da Costa's brother, Fabian, has undertaken many a Konkani recording. JoeGoaUk knows a lot about the state of the Konkani VCD sector at present. Guys, I'd be grateful if you could give me some insights and also the permission to reproduce your views (with due sourcing). Please reply to me offline, or even online if you feel this subject merits a wider discussion on Goanet. FN Frederick Noronha
