I'm looking at this technology, http://code.google.com/p/jsinterface/, to bridge the AS / JS divide. I'm not giving up on AS - show me another language that has something equivalent to an item renderer baked into the language proper. This is only language I've ever used that even begins to address the needs of UI designers.
