The station had been operating with 1000 Watts Non Directional 24/7 since last year after a fire at its transmitter site. Here in Laramie, when they were at 1000 Watts, I never heard them but they caused a low rumbling het all night every night.
I DX every night, so I noticed it. well, Tuesday night February 4th the low rumbling het was gone and i had my first confirmed logging of KCKN Wednesday night, theres no rumbling het. I checked with an engineer who'd know stuff and he said stuff has been repaired and back to normal The signal is at times pretty good here but im North and east of the night pattern so it it gets very weak noisy and fadey at times.
