** ANTARCTICA. 15476 RC USB, Feb 2 at 2308, another test as publicized
from LRA36 - direct reception the best here in a long time, well above
local noise level of S3/S5 so quite readable, S5/S7 with music, RAE
multilingual ID, then 2309 RNASG ID. At 2325 I switch to favorite
Argentine remote where it`s S9/+10, mostly music. With that strength I
can barely perceive there still be a reduced carrier, as in USB I tune
downward, but can`t really pinpoint it to .98 as before. 2359 ``somos
un nuevo sonido para su radio``; pause and seeming live announcement
to listen again tomorrow at 23 UT for the first program of the new
season; was it `Uniendo Voces`? Not sure what he called it; nothing
more. Originally publicized to be two hours long, later only one
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA [and non]. 11760, Feb 2 at 1618, RHC unusually weak, S7/S8 as
Spanish modulation cuts out and on. But again with parasitic wobbly
spurs approx. plus/minus 4.4 kHz around 11755.6 and 11764.4; also
multiples even more diffuse about 11768.8, 11773.2. Jammers sound
louder on 11860 & 11930 but obscured by that Grimesland NC station.
15140 is off. The Other Side:

``The regime tramples on the sexual and reproductive rights of women
prisoners -- In the case of Cuban political prisoner Lisdany Rodr?guez
Isaac, Havana is once again breaking its own laws and violating
international legal protocols.

{caption}

The Cuban regime is once again breaking its own laws and violating
international legal protocols that protect sexual and reproductive
rights, in the case of political prisoner Lisdany Rodr?guez Isacc,
held in the prison of El Guamajal, in Villa Clara. Seven weeks
pregnant, the young woman is being pressured to undergo an abortion at
the same time she is being deprived of adequate food and medical
care...``

** FRANCE. 7295-7300-7305, Feb 2 at 0730, DRM, S9+35 into Canary SDR.
This time I keep the computer on to ID this as heard last few nights.
No sound but silence, no journaliine, displays as from TDF as I had
suspected. S/N varies 9.1 to 10.4, 8.08 kbps. Must have just come on,
as no signal direct at 0727, but S9+25 of noise audible by 0737. Off
by final check 0802. Apparently secret test, why? at *0730-0800*
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. 107.1 KNID, and 95.7 KXLS, Feb 2 at 1930 UT, dead air in
$tereo, no coincidence as sibling stations. Still such at 1943 past
2000; but remusicking by next check 2017. Enid market but 107.1 CoL
North Enid, 95.7 Lahoma which is west of Enid, both axually on same
tower; so why the pretense? (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. 99.7, Feb 2 at 1932 UT, ``The New 99-7, The Wolf``, also
plugs ``The Wolf-pack``. Not so new that it`s not already as such in
the WTFDA DB. Latest in a string of call changes is KWFF, country,
47/47 kW from Mustang, SW of OKC. This was originally an independent
Enid station, but soon sold out to Chisholm Trail Broadcasting, and
eventually sucked into OKC area. FCC FM Query shows Call Sign History,
with change dates but not for the latest!:
KNAH 09/30/2013 = HANK tleps sdrawkcab
KZLS 10/16/2008 = now on 1640
KNID 07/24/2000 = now on 107.1
KXLS 03/20/1981 = now on 95.7!
whether or not the last two manage to modulate; whether or not 1640
manage to transmit at all (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR)

** SPAIN. 9690, Fri Feb 2 at 2300, token English from SNR, feature
previewed is a 4- instead of 5-day work week, currently being
experimented in Portugal pilot project; S9+30/40 direct well above the
local HNL. 2302 ack. Groundhog Day, then the real news. 2307 TGIF
becomes TGIT? But too much competition this hour: Antarctica, Turkey
and SW premi?re of WOR 2228! (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY [and non]. 5960.002, Feb 2 at 2300, VOT not off the air
direct, but too poor vs noise level; 2336 into UTwente where measured,
song, S9+25/35. 2344 `That`s Why` repeat with the badax, something
about the sun being in the middle of the Milky Way, NOT! Something
always awry at Ankara, music. At 2354 s/off for 1330 broadcast only,
IS; 2357 IS has restarted with German IDs; 2402 still German, but
uncovered Chinese by 2404. Something`s always erroneous at Emirler
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO: from Kari Kallio, Finland:
``"Hello Kari
..//.."Thanks for the short report. We love those comments without
asking for any QSLs^^. Thanks also for the audio files from your
location. We have decided to keep Glenn Hausers' WOR permanetly 'on
schedule', within the CQ Serenade show which has the ARNewsline at the
top of the hour. Glenn following at aprox. 30min past the top of the
hour. We had some nice feedback lately..//.. Cheers to Finland, Andy

my RR of WORLD OF RADIO via Winsen on 3975 kHz the 29th Jan. 2024 at
20:30 UTC+. GH, Welcome to Europe on SW!`` Good, altho I have no
intentional connexion with CQ Serenade.

WORLD OF RADIO 2228 monitoring: confirmed Friday February 2 at 2130 on
IRRS via AM Italia, 1323 kHz, S8/S9 but noisy with Spain ACI from 1314
into UTwente; better S9+15 clear into nearby Noale SDR.

Also confirmed Friday February 2 at 2300 on WRMI 9955, S9+20 exceeding
S9+10 local line noise level, but can`t tell whether also any jamming.
T-storm crashes also approaching. Followed at 2259 that `I Love SW`
Xmas fruitcake promo! Next:

As noncommercial services, financial support appreciated. Thanks this
week to Michael Beu, Austin TX for a contribution via PayPal in US
funds but not necessarily, to: woradio at yahoo.com and says, ``Glenn,
your efforts are much appreciated! Thanks again for WOR - a valuable
resource.``

One may also contribute by money order or check on a US bank to:
Glenn Hauser, PO Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 5085, Feb 2 at 0239, WTWW-2 is gone again; as in last
report, I found it active at 0102. So something`s wrong again, not
attaining full nominal span 23-05 UT. Next evening a receiver on 5085
awaiting WTWW, finally cuts on JIP preacher at *2354.5 (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

** U S A. 1130 kHz, Feb 2 at 0757 UT, S9+28 of dead air; 0759 fires ID
as KLEY Wellington-Wichita, Kansas, 104.1 and 1130, into music. Not
ashamed of cheating with 250 watt day power instead of licensed one
watt at night, which is tantamount to nothing. Woe to KWKH et al., JBA
under the open carrier (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. Trans-Atlantic JBA MW carriers still audible as late as
0756 UT Feb 2 on two frequencies checked, not a full search: 891 would
be Algeria, 1044 Spain (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

This report dispatched at 0125 UT February 3
