Oh well, that happens when I try to help people when I don't really know

I though it was impossible to detect a deadlock (and a blackhole is
something like a deadlock no?) *before* it occured, but in this case,
we're talking about detecting it *when* it occurs, no? And then raising
an error instead of just blocking?
