PETALING JAYA - A key prosecution witness in the Anwar
Ibrahim sodomy trial has lodged a police report after
her address, handphone number and car description were
posted in a pro-reformasi website.
Ummi Hafilda Ali told The Sun newspaper she had lodged the
report at Brickfields police station on Wednesday.
She said she had been bombarded with calls soon after her
details were made public three days ago.
'I had to switch off my handphone as the callers were
cursing me and some even threatened to kill me. 'My
handphone mailbox is full,' she said. Other callers were
sympathetic. These people consoled me and advised me to
calm down and take good care of myself,' she said.
She fears for her safety and hopes the police will take
action.
On the website, it is alleged that 'Reformasi Special
Branch' had managed to locate Ummi's latest hiding place near
Sri Hartamas. She is said to have been staying there since
the exposure of her earlier addresses in Kampung Baru
and Villa Puteri, Jalan Tun Ismail.
Under the title, Special Branch Berjaya Mengesan Tempat
Persembunyian Ummi Hafilda, or Special Branch
Successfully Traces Ummi Hafilda's Hideout, the website
called upon those 'interested to look for Ummi' to
assemble peacefully in front of her apartment. She became a
key witness at Anwar's corruption trial after writing to
Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad.
In her letter, Ummi accused Anwar of having had an affair
with her sister-in-law. The woman some call Miss
Walking Wardrobe has also been on tour with a road show
allegedly to 'tell the Anwar story'
