Hadi is on a winning streak

I would like to congratulate Terengganu Menteri Besar Abdul Hadi Awang for a job well done in tabling and passing hudud (Islamic penal code) laws.
I enjoy the spectacle of his political opponents in Umno squirming in discomfort and impotence against his challenge.
Umno leaders dare not oppose principle of hudud and qisas (retribution/retaliation). They only hem and haw about its haphazard implementation and other technical inperfections and weaknesses. Deputy Premier Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said that there were not enough syariah judges to administer it.
If I were Hadi, I will ask why the Umno-led government, if it agrees to hudud in principle but not its implementation because of practical difficulties, has not marshalled its resources to help overcome these difficulties to enact hudud throughout the land.

er Dr Rais Yatim (The Star, July 10) dare not give an opinion on syariah criminal offences and prefer rejection of hudud to come from the people themselves. What a splendid display of leadership!
Hadi is taking note that he is on a winning streak, and his opponents are losing the will to fight him. He will soon hit and hit hard at all fronts. He just cannot lose over time.
Hopefully due to Hadi's dynamic and brave leadership, we can all look forward to better sexual morality of less sex, less social crimes, greater proximity to God in the times ahead, including a great life after death, for which we all should be indebted eternally to our saviour, Hadi.
