Ah. Suckage. Anyone else try it? Is there anything that can be done about
this issue?
Any word from Valve when the dedicated server will be available via
hldsupdatetool (or any other valid source)? I've found the stock Valve maps
to be quite nice. HL Source wasn't that impressive, but the reworked DM maps
are pretty. I'd be willing to invest some time to running a server and
converting my maps if we had a realiable dedicated server (and some bug
fixes as well). HL2 DM is nice, but who plays it? Servers sit empty. HL1
Source DM might have a better chance.
Alas, are the glory days of death match behind us? Have the decicated
players all moved on, and there is no one to take there place? I know I
don't play much these days, just don't have time. Calculus finals next week,
and I have no life until they are over LOL.

I tried this a long time ago when it was first released (and just tried it
again) and although a server will run, a client can't join because it uses
different class tables from the server.

Have you done this? Does it actually work? How stable is it? Running a
listenserver seems to be buggy as hell, and crashes regularly. I have got
mine to last up to 6 hours or so without crashing, but so far that is my
limit.
I will try this when I get home Friday (Calculus 4 test thursday, I have

life until the test is over lol).
