Personally i have no issues whatsoever with server or client but many players on IRC report that their Steam broke up. Won't boot up, have to delete ClientRegistry.blob and then some of their games get redownloaded in full even though they were installed just a moment ago.

Anyone else getting the same?

Yes, there were a lot of complaints last update but I did not experience any problems. This time it's not updating.

And even when it does work, it takes 30 minutes minimum to do even the tiny updates while the desktop client, and even some non-US linux servers operated by friends, breeze through in under 2 minutes. I hate to be yet another unconstructive complainer on this list, but the Linux client needs a rewrite badly. Perhaps start with an option to select content server regions?

My best guess is that either all the linux updaters are piling on a few content servers, or the servers it's picking don't have the content yet and are stalling until it arrives.
