Since writing the email, much of the connection problem has been resolved. As one new to Ubuntu 7.04, I am not exactly sure why and how, but it does seem to link with doing a disk clean-up. What is not resolved is that the Print Test Page does not work, nor the command to print the pages in reverse order. It would be useful to be able to print a test page from the Device Manager, even though it can be done from the printer window. It seems odd that some commands like alignment does work but others not. Perhaps you have some ideas for that.

As requested the, hp-check -t output in the attachment. It was taken a from minutes before typing this.
