Does it matter that by default 3.2 does HEAD before GET? Would that influence the dig time?
If you set bad extensions properly, HEAD before GET can be disallowed. However when persistent connections are used, the drawbacks are not perceivable. I can't give you an exact measurement though. Sorry. I am basing my assumptions on ht://Check behaviour.
