Judging from the responses so far, this is must be coincidence plus the realization: "Oh. I can ask on IBM-Main". For us it is just coincidental that is is happening right now. We've been moving towards secure data transmissions with business partners (with testing starting in about a week) but nobody had checked what we could do to lessen the effect encryption would have on our processors. At the same time another group decided to take advantage of our recent upgrades of hardware (all processors are not z9s) and software (all LPARs are now running z/OS 1.8) to use the CEX2 PIN generation & verification facility. Pure coincidence that we suddenly have two groups interested in the crytpograph features. Pure coincidence that this happened at the same time others started asking questions.
