You don't type an URL, you type a domain name.

The "convenience" may seem limited but if the card is shared
you don't have to have the card details available.  Using short-lived
card-numbers in conjunction with 3D is also an new possibility enabled
by this scheme.

And the "card" could equally well be an account-number.  I have
three in my bank and I don't remember any of these, but my bank allows
me to select from a list when I perform payments.

But the main objective behind the proposal is to get a universal
"3D-like" system instead of a VISA-only.
