Hi,

I am asking me if it is necessary to be registered in the mailing list to be able to post in this list

Yes and no. Registration is necessary to stop SPAM.
Mails that are sent by unregistered users are put on hold.
The mailing list admin (Paulo or I) normally pass all the
acceptable questions through and we delete the SPAM
(sometimes there's really a lot of it, so we prefer to keep
the registration).

using the news gateway gmane.org offers.

Their service is great, isn't it! I think you can register to
GMANE and post questions there, but I don't think these
questions will reach all the subscribers. I fear they will only
be visible for people who use the newsreader. We should
test this to see if my assumption is true.
Of course, you could also unsubscribe and keep on posting
to the mailing-list, but then you'll always have a delay; you'll
have to wait till Paulo or I pass the mail through.

Note that I have changed the mailing-list setting so that
replies now only go to the list, not to the Original Poster.
I am getting too much mail in my personal Inbox.

Bruno
