Have you tried new cables? It's more likely that there's a problem with your cables than with the "bundle-o'-cables" on a new PVR-350.Blues Guy wrote:

I plugged the S-Video to Composite adapter and I get a picture....only its black and white. I read that the composite and s-video were hooked up to the same place in the card so if the s-video works (even in black and white) then I assume the composite should work. If I'm right about composite and s-video being wired into the same place then my card dongle is bad (in which case how do I fix the B&W problem). If I'm wrong then I'm still hoping you all might have some clue.
Using the 250's S-Video out, with a S-Video to composite adapter (I tried two different one's thinking the adapter might be bad) always produced a B&W picture no matter what I did. I gave up on it, and I use the composite out.
Of course that should read "Using the 350's S-Video out...." Not enough coffee this morning... :-)

Also, note that there is absolutely no quality benefit to converting from S-Video to Composite or vice versa. As a matter of fact, you'll generally get better quality using the original (unconverted) output from a device.Right. If you downgrade the signal from S-Video to composite, that's exactly what you've done, downgraded the signal, and thus the quality.
I was only doing it this way for testing during my initial setup last year, and as many geeks would be, I was puzzled by the B&W picture. And as with many other steps of the PVR project, I got distracted by the challenge of trying to make it color. Ultimately, however, I was defeated. :-)
IIRC, I had some kind of resource conflict with something else in my Asus Pundit, and never could get it to work right. Doesn't really matter to me as the composite output of the 350 is quite good on my 32", and when I replace this TV with something capable of HDTV, I'll probably be using component or digital out anyway, and the 350 will find a home on e-bay. :-)
