Nick,

I tried your trick, but the results are different. Like you said in one of 
your other posts, the saa7115 status is 40c0 when booting (tuner status bad). 
I then used ptune.pl to tune to a known working station (ptune.pl --freqtable 
pal-europe-west --channel E4). After 5 seconds the status of the saa7115 
changes to 50c0. That means that "Gain value for act.lum. (max) (D4)" changed 
from "Not limited" to "Limited", but the tuner status is still bad. I then 
rebooted my box and it came back with status 40c0. Using ptune.pl gave the 
same status (50c0) as during the previous boot.
