More info... As I expected, those messages are dumped any time my PVR-350 is recording or playing back in a window in X ( e.g. a preview video in MythTV ). While recording a video feed, /var/log/messages grows at about 2MB per minute. Ouch... Oddly enough, if I just play back an MPEG-2 stream I don't get these messages.
Any guesses? -Tim -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Timothy McFadden Sent: Sunday, July 31, 2005 9:25 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [ivtv-devel] ivtv-osd: OSD: REG_DECSG1LEN wait failed Hello all. I'm running FC3 and ivtv with a PVR-350 and I'm having log file problems. My /var/log/messages file fills up with the messages below while using MythTV (for the most part, only when I'm displaying a live preview of my recordings while selecting them from a list). I can minimize the affect by de-selecting "Setup->Setup->TV Settings->Playback->Display live preview of recordings". Because of the error messages, however, I'm thinking that I have ivtv setup incorrectly. I've also noticed that I do not get these messages if my X display isn't sent through the PVR-350's TV Out. Anyone see anything obvious? TIA -Tim *** sample of /var/log/messages ( this is repeated over and over ) Jul 31 08:57:24 localhost kernel: ivtv-osd: OSD: REG_DECSG1LEN wait failed Jul 31 08:57:24 localhost kernel: ivtv: DMA Registers State: xfer: 0x00000001, state: 0x00000002 dec_addr: 0x1edf45b8 enc_addr: 0x1f1e0060 control: 0x00000003 Jul 31 08:57:24 localhost kernel: ivtv: DMA DEC Buffers: Jul 31 08:57:24 localhost kernel: 0x10fd8000:0x015ac8c0:0x00001000 Jul 31 08:57:24 localhost kernel: ivtv: DMA ENC Buffers: Jul 31 08:57:24 localhost kernel: 0x000faadc:0x1ece8000:0x80004000 Jul 31 08:57:24 localhost kernel: 0x000ebadc:0x1ecd0000:0x80004000 Jul 31 08:57:24 localhost kernel: 0x00108adc:0x1edd0000:0x80004000 Jul 31 08:57:24 localhost kernel: 0x000e7b1c:0x1f228000:0x00004000 Jul 31 08:57:24 localhost kernel: 0x000ebb1c:0x1f22c000:0x80004000 Jul 31 08:57:24 localhost kernel: 0x000efb1c:0x1ecf0000:0x80004000 Jul 31 08:57:24 localhost kernel: 0x9ea45641:0x91b4ff8f:0xdd4cfeff Jul 31 08:57:24 localhost kernel: 0x14768635:0x4725f832:0x9ced731b ****************************************************** *** snippet from xorg.conf *** Section "Device" Identifier "Hauppauge PVR 350 iTVC15 Framebuffer" Driver "ivtvdev" Option "fbdev" "/dev/fb1" Option "ivtv" "/dev/fb1" BusID "PCI:0:13:0" # lspci says 00:08.0 EndSection ****************************************************** ** rpm list ** # rpm -qa | grep ivtv ivtv-firmware-1.8a-4.at ivtvdev-0.10-2.rhfc3.at ivtv-firmware-enc-2.04.024-4.at ivtv-firmware-dec-2.02.023-4.at perl-Video-ivtv-0.13-7.rhfc3.at ivtv-0.2.0-69_rc3k.rhfc3.at ivtv-kmdl-2.6.12-1.1372_FC3-0.2.0-69_rc3k.rhfc3.at ****************************************************** ** modprobe.conf ** alias eth0 sk98lin alias scsi_hostadapter sata_via alias snd-card-0 snd-via82xx options snd-card-0 index=0 install snd-via82xx /sbin/modprobe --ignore-install snd-via82xx && /usr/sbin/alsactl restore >/dev/null 2>&1 || : remove snd-via82xx { /usr/sbin/alsactl store >/dev/null 2>&1 || : ;
