If you wait a while, while still on the same channel (w/o sound), does the
sound "return"? I have that problem; on some channels there is no sound at
first but if I wait a random time (usually < 2min) the sound will be
turned on. I have an SMP/PREEMPT compiled kernel (P4 HT, 2.6.12.6+gentoo
patch set).
