Hello,

Do any of you guys have this problem as well? I have a FX43 motherboard in a
SK43G shuttle. I've used this shuttle for a long time with a PVR250 (no MCE) and
it worked perfectly. This motherboard had a S410 firmware, which I've upgraded
to S419 after reports that some via motherboards might need this. Yet the system
keeps freezing when addressing the pvr card.

I'm using the ivtv 0.3.9 drivers made with the ivtv-0.3.8.ebuild (from gentoo)
to use the 0.3.9 ivtv drivers. And I've using the advised firmware drivers.

>From all dmesg' I've read in the list compared against my dmesg it should be
working ok :( yet it keeps freezing whtn I address the pvr card.

so, after loading the ivtv module (now the system is still running) I either try
to watch a tv stream with mythtv or do (cat /dev/video0 > test.mpg). In both
cases my system turns into a brick.

Specs:
Card: Hauppauge WinTV PVR-500MCE
Tuner: PAL type 56
cx25840: type 25

System:
Case/mbord: Shuttle SK43g, FX43 motherboard
(http://eu.shuttle.com/en/desktopdefault.aspx/tabid-72/170_read-4105/)
chipset: chipset: VIA KM400 + VT8237
CPU: AMD Athlon XP 2100+
Video: onboard Via KM400 Unichrome chipset
harddrives:
- Maxtor 250gb Sata drive (system/ drive)
- Seagate Barracuda 160gb Ata (videorecorder drive)
memory: 1gb (2x 512mb Dane Elec PC2100)

I'm currently in the office, and for "obvious" reasons I can't grab the dmesg
log for you guys right now. What are the first thoughts on the problem and what
might be a sollution?

Thanks for taking the time to read this,

Jelle
