Thanks so much for the reply, Ian!  I have verified the java.security 
file and it is setup exactly as per your response.  I was using the AES 
algorithm, and tried DES, TripleDE; however, all throw the 
NoSuchAlgorithm, Cannot find any provider supporting
XXX.  

Does Phoenix, or James, define a security policy, or modify the 
classpath such that the Java security providers are not found?  I do 
have my JAVA_HOME variable set to the appropriate JDK.
