Hi Judy, what version of windows are you using?
I'm running win 7 32 bit with 2 gb ram, and hardly experience any freezing. But I turned off lots of the windows process from loading. I also remove programs I don't need to access all the time from the start-up.

Hi, well I checked and it says 4.00 gb and 3.7 usable. This computer is
several years old and not in the budget for a new one, so thanks for the
idea. Sounds like I need to install more. Judy & Libby

I'm wondering if you might need more RAM. You can find out how much you have
by pressing Windows key+the pause key in the desktop's far right corner.
Turn on the JAWS cursor and arrow down through the lengthy list of details
about your system. I don't know what's considered ideal these days for a
Win7 system, but mine has 8.0 gb. In the past, I have found that RAM
upgrades help.

Judy,

You're not possibly touching the embedded touchstick on a laptop keyboard?
It lies between the G, H, V, and B keys.

Ed, I am typing an email message. It seems like I am typing faster than jaws
can talk, if that makes sense, although I am not a speed typist. It should
be able to keep up. It happens if the email is long and I am typing for a
bit. I use Microsoft office outlook 2003, windows 7. Thanks. Judy & Libby

Hi Judy,
Just unload Jaws and restart it. No need to restart the whole pc. You can
also try alt + Tab away and back sometimes helps. Can you tell me what you
are typing in when this happens. I have this happen all the time in Outlook
2010.
Mr. Ed

Hi, all, lately if I am typing a longer email, jaws will just freeze up and
stop talking altogether. Then it won't start again even if I wait half an
hour, so I restart the computer. It is almost like it can't keep up with
things and although I type at a decent speed it is not too fast. Anyone know
how to fix this? Thanks. Judy & Libby
