I'm using Windows 10, Fall Creator update.
Perhaps you've already tried this, but if the view is something other than
details, sometimes you have to arrow sideways, rather than up and down, to
find all the views.
If control-shift-6 does not work for you (I don't get a menu-it just
changes) press f6.
You should then be able to arrow sideways through the view options and press
enter on details to change it.
Just one comment, maybe two, smile, about opening attachments.
First, JAWS reads file extensions for the attachments I get in Outlook, even
though I have extensions turned off. I've read about the dangers of double
file extensions in attachments, but from what I read, with file extensions
turned off, there will be an executable icon displayed, which presumably
JAWS would identify.
Second, for security, I never open any attachment, not even when I know and
trust the source. I save it and then scan it with my antivirus program
before opening it. And again, JAWS has identified it before I begin any of
that.
Certainly identifying file types is advisable for safety, but perhaps
Microsoft assumes that most people would not recognize what all those three
letter combinations mean, and has switched to icons instead.
JMO.

When I press control-shift-f6, it comes up with the view submenu, but only
says things like "large icons", "small icons" etc. There's no 'details' item
there.

Cheers!

Michele
