The way you describe how autocomplete is working for you in Outlook 2016 is
also my experience. I often need to press enter on the selection, tab away from
the "To" field, then shift-tab back to the "To" line to confirm the correct
address has been accepted. There are alternative methods, but no need to go
into them. Yes, this is different from my experience with Outlook 2010.

Well, the level 2 guy emptied auto complete because it wasn't working properly.
It was providing addresses that had nothing to do with the first few letters.
He told me that in order to rebuild it, I should write in the first few letters
and then press control K which would bring up a list of relevant addresses. I
should arrow down to the correct address and press enter. That address would
then be filled in and would be part of my reconstruction of auto complete. So I
was trying to send an email to the blind democracy list. I found the correct
address. However, even though I followed his directions, auto complete filled
in a different address which belonged to someone who used "blind" and his first
name and whose address was in the list. Finally, I went to a word document
where I'd stored the blind democracy address and copied and pasted it into the
to field. The next time I tried to use auto complete for the blind democracy
list, the correct address was filled in, but Jaws didn't read it until I
pressed enter. The Jaws users name was filled in but again, Jaws didn't read it
the way it normally does. I think I had to press enter or manually read the
line. So it seems to me that Jaws isn't working properly with auto complete or
auto complete isn't working properly or something.

Hi.

If you are having problems with auto-complete for entering recipient in the
"to" field in Outlook, here's something that might work. At least, it works in
Outlook 2010, and I believe I once tested this on 2016 at work, too.
Enter in the first few letters of the recipient. For example, for this list, I
might type in "jaws". Write your message and use your send command. If there's
more than one address that matches the criteria of what you entered, a list of
matches will pop up before you send the message, and you can select the one
that applies.

Not sure if this will really help you, but I notice that people often seem to
have issues with JAWS and auto-complete, in that they don't know when an
address has been filled out.

Well George,

Here's my latest report. I was looking at my to Miriam folder this evening with
Magic and its voice, and I noted that BARD sent me an email that The New Yorker
had arrived and was inserted into my wish list. So, in order to download it, I
turned on Jaws 18, downloaded the magazine, and transferred it to an SD card
for my VR Stream. While Jaws was still running, I went back to my to Miriam
folder in Outlook, and had no problem looking through the list of emails and
reading some of them. I then sent a second article to the blind democracy list
and this time, the auto complete worked beautifully.
The first time, I had to copy the blind democracy address from a document where
I've stored it because the auto complete wouldn't work. I was sure that if I
moved from the to Miriam folder to the inbox while jaws is running, Outlook
would crash. However, here I am, responding to your email which, with all the
other emails from lists, is in the inbox. Outlook didn't crash. Jaws is fine.

I'm sure the problem isn't solved. That article that I sent to the blind
democracy list got there, but another copy was sitting around and refusing to
leave or explain why it was there. Eventually some buttons appeared and I tried
pressing them and one of them made the extra copy disappear. I'll stop while
I'm ahead and wonder what tomorrow will bring.

Miriam,
That is very interesting, a conflict between Office 365 & JAWS. It happens
often but never heard of it like this with Outlook.
As soon as I moved from MAGic and JAWS18 to Fusion I have a very disturbing
issue with my QuickBooks. I believe this is definitely an issue with JAWS
because my sighted son makes QuickBooks work fine without JAWS18.
One of these days when fixing one issue or another the VFO team will make a
change and one or both of our issues will suddenly go away FROWN

In case anyone is interested, the Microsoft Level 2 Disabilities tech guy was
unable to solve my Outlook 2016 problem. I am able to write this email because
Jaws is turned off and I'm using the Magic voice. This allows me to move from
the inbox to the to Miriam folder and to move through the list of emails and
open and read them. However, although he emptied out the auto reply and told me
how to get it to function properly, his directions don't work consistently.
They worked for this email, I think. We'll see if it gets to the correct place.
The directions did not work for my blind democracy list. The incorrect address
was placed in the to field, no matter what I did. The tech thinks there's a
conflict between Jaws and Outlook 2016, something about the Jaws driver. He's
sending the problem up to Level three.
Meanwhile, I'm receiving some messages in duplicate. Yesterday, David worked
with me for hours to try to fix things, and he was unable to do so. The new
account that he set up in Optimum, apparently wouldn't work because today, with
Microsoft, I had to go back to the password for the original account. I am so
grateful for all David's time and patience. I know that I will need him again
to tidy things up if Microsoft can actually get Outlook to work with Jaws.

I would appreciate step by step directions for putting back my permanent blind
copy field, but pehaps, I'll need to wait to do that until Jaws is working
again. There are things that the Magic voice can't do.

Miriam
