Which version of JAWS are you using? 2018 will handle most PDF files, and a few earlier versions can work with many. Also, do you have Acrobat Reader installed, ideally version DC? Here, you'll want to set online PDF files to open in Acrobat rather than your browser.

She is working on an iPad so she didn't have access to word so she finally sent me the PDF version.
