My guess is that the "parrent document" being announced is part of the technical information available in "Developer Mode", which is now part of Internet Explorer 8. Pressing F12 toggles "Developer Mode" on and off. It provides the capability to view and dynamically modify the underlying HTML and CSS, along with the resulting DOM, that make upp the webpage. The "parent document" reference would be the very top item in the Document Object Model (DOM). Either you unknowingly got switched into Developer Mode or JAWS is picking up information that should not be displayed. If pressing F12 does not fix the problem, see if pressing Insert + Escape allows JAWS to read the page correctly.
