Tom,
Radio shack has it, from $59 with rebate.
The brand was net gear something.

I need one too.

is it placed near the router wifi limit, and pushes it out further?

Thanks,I may have to use the repeater option. I recycled an older router
about 2 months ago. This router has dual antennas and I do not detect any
way to remove them for replacements.

You have two options, well three:

1. Move the router to a more centrally located spot, if possible.

2. If your router has an external antenna, try replacing it with one that
is directional and has higher gain. Unfortunately, some routers have
internal antennas and you can't do this.

3. Buy a wifi repeater, or you can use an old router as a repeater if
you're technically inclined. If not, look for a wifi repeater on Amazon,
Best Buy, etc. You can probably get one for $30 or so.
Take my advice, I don't use it anyway.
