There are indeed, and they do have their uses, to be sure, and can be convenient. But they are, by their nature, rather narrow definitions and from an artistic POV rarely make too much sense. Much great music just cannot be confined by such small compartmentalisation. Great minds won't be confined, period. "Pidgeonholing" may be convenient in some contexts, but often great music just won't conveniently fit, and then it's the pidgeonhole concept that ends up looking rather silly.
