I've been asked about a problem with character encoding for JSmol embedded in a page that is served from a different server. The language encoding seems to work directly on the server, but not when embedded. The whole intent of the "sage-cell server" is to be able to embed single interactive symbolic mathematics cells into arbitrary pages; thus it would be nice to find a way around this problem.
To see the problem set your preferred language to German (de) and go to this page. Then click on the Auswerten button. Some calculations will happen and then a plot in JSmol will appear below. Right-click to actuate the JSmol menu. You will see that some of the characters are not rendered. The fix for the problem was not obvious to me. Any suggestions?
