u can go to the xorg maillist to get more information. i guess whether your xorg-server version is the "right" version to support multi-touch and your configuration about your device in xorg.conf file is "right" or not.
By the way, u can "cat /dev/input/event7" or "cat /dev/input/event8" and use your device to see there is something output in your screen to prove your driver work normally.
