I'd agree that a straight forward idea would be easier to execute rather than trying to combine lots. Having smaller panels than the maximum allowed, would allow some leeway when it comes to packaging. It may then be possible to included an extra panel, or increase the panel size to accomodate the cats if there are too many for the intended number.
One thing I have thought of, is that we would need to collect funds to cover the cost of mounting materials, entry fee and postage and packing to and from the Hollies. With lots of lacemakers involved, a small amount each would go a long way. It would also make sense to have the pieces assembled in the UK if possible, as the postage for the complete item would then be cheaper. Another thought, is that of suggesting a size limit for cats, if they are coming from different sources. There is a kitten and a siamese cat in New Designs in Honiton Lace (Perryman and Voysey), which is a start for patterns. The kitten is only 3/4 by 1 1/4 inch. The siamese cat is a lot larger 3 1/2 by 2 ins.
