On your Mac, if you go to the system preferences and choose âKeyboardâ,
you can check the box that says âshow keyboard and emoji viewers in menu
barâ. This puts a little icon in the menu bar that allows you to pull up the
two viewers from the desktop⦠the Emoji viewer is the same one you get from
the Mail program, but they Keyboard viewer gives you a diagram of the keyboard
layout. If you then press things like the âcommandâ, âshiftâ, or
âoptionâ keys with the keyboard viewer open it will show you what symbols
you have available.

and didnât know it was there, itâs under Edit in Mail (and in the Finder,
too) but it isnât called Character Viewer - itâs called âEmojis and
Symbolsâ There are hundreds of them, and I had to scroll down quite a ways
to find the little heart. I was searching for it using the alternate
characters on the keyboard (hold down Option or Shift+Option while typing the
keyboard characters), which is mostly alphabetic things like vowels with
accents, plus financial symbols like the euro sign and the pound sign.
