Hello folks, a month ago I made some remarks and complaints on this list concerning failing regular expressions for Bering. Some moments ago I uploaded two source files
/devel/meand/testtools/test_regex.c /devel/meand/testtools/test_regex.sh that perform 48 identical tests, one source file using library calls, the other one using 'egrep'. The code is conceived for general operating systems, but using uClibc-0.9.28 or uClibc-0.9.29/regex_old there are eleven failures out of fortyeight clauses. In contrast, uClibc-0.9.29/"regex_new" is able to correctly get all fortyeight matches. One month ago I reported this to the uClibc list, thereby including test_regex.c, but nobody has reacted, so for the sake of Bering-uClibc, either we develop a private patch, or leave matters broken! The output of both programs is identical and is verbose.
