Yes, we need different kernels with different module packages, and 
ideally - with separate packages that are compiled for different archs 
(generic i586 or something more specialized and ipentiumII as lowest 
i686 member - IMHO nobody will use pentium pro SMP board for LEAF) 
because i686-specific instructions will cause application crash on 
i586-based boards, and SMP modules will not work on non-SMP kernel.
