Yes. That is exactly what is happening. See: http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/message.php?msg_id=1655640 I believe that newer versions of the MTD DiskOnChip/NFTL drivers do support concurrent mounting, but I'm not positive. As pointed out in the above message, the drivers in 2.4.18 definitely do not.
