Keith, They're really not as random as you think. If you look a little closer to the list, you'll see they're grouped by type - Names, vital Dates/locations, notes, tags, events, addresses, etc.

Why not alphabetically? You have to read through all of the choices to find the one you want. Surname is before Birth Date, etc. I did not even see PRIVATE as a search possibility - but it is there!
