Who said anything about 'removing' the maps? If there is a change in licensing 
of map use (perhaps from Bing to Google) that would mean the end of one 
connection and the beginning (after coding changes) of a new connection.

I seriously doubt that the maps change is at all related to the acquisition. 
Why would they remove a valuable tool in Legacy?
