updating libX11 and libXaw works fine for me. (i upgraded the server to 1.9.3 and had to update some packages (can't recall which) but with the rest i'm still at the wget-list for 7.5. i finished x, xfce and firefox now w/o problems. tomorrow i'll continue with the servers (apache, ldap, samba...) >> gs is not built yet, i will build it after xorg and xfce is finished, i >> don't know why groff 1.21 is capable to build the ps files, with 1.20.1 >> i have no problems and the .ps are not build. "grops" is listed as an installed program in 6.43.3. it's not only true for 1.21 but also for 1.20.1. i don't know why gs is an optional requirement for groff. > hadn't. I don't pay any attention to xorg docs (except, sometimes, > man pages) so I didn't investigate any changes in what got > installed. I only made sure that I could build the new groff > without xorg and gs before I put it into the build. i don't care about the docs too. i usualy even remove the doc and info directories and keep just the man files. especially the xml-docs i have no use for, as i have no tool install to read them... for the time until xorg is updated to 7.6 in the book, it might be a good idea to mention my problems somewhere - either makeing a remark in the lfs/groff or in the blfs/libX section, or even update the 7.5 wget to include the 2 packages i had to upgrade. once again thanks for your help tobias -- http://linuxfromscratch.org/mailman/listinfo/lfs-dev FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/faq/ Unsubscribe: See the above information page
