I'm assuming you mean the asterisk in the window title of the main window.
Which gui are you using? Standard Qt-Gui, Kde-Gui, Qt4-Gui or something
else?
Which version did you use earlier when it worked? 1.3.4 or was it an even
older version?
Could you please check if the problem still appears with Licq 1.3.6?
