I went through the archives prior to signing onto the mailing list, but the last tantilising message on the subject asked the original poster to run a tool in Windows to get some debug info from the printer. I have XP and Gentoo on the same machine so I can run anything needed to pull info out of the thing. > Looks like you'll need to enable USB debugging and post the message > log file of USB trying to discover/enumerate that device. > > Do usbview or lsusb provide anything useful for the device? > I'll check that on the next reboot. Currently using the wrong OS. > The problem was something like the device reports 0 configs (?). > It sure seems to me that we had a workaround for it. The original thread mentioned a patch, but I've not been able to track it down and I can't boot the 2.5 series kernels on my PC to see whether anything has been incorporated there. (Stops after the unpacking kernel msg. Lots of HD access but the screen doesn't show anything more. Anyway, that's an issue for another list.) If I can get the printer working I can run Linux far more often. My other hardware is either useable or I've upgraded/replaced it. I will run the commands and report the results. > > | -- > | Simon Says: Programming consists of 50% planning, 50% coding and 30% mathematics. > > Which Simon says that? ;) > Me Simon ;-) None of my users have commented on it, but then again I tend to strip that footer off customer support mails. Somehow it doesn't inspire confidence. Cheers Simon -- Unix prompts we'll never see: "I'm sorry, that password is already in use by root.
