Hi,

It seems to me, that the current way of setting up preferences as to
what the client will ask the next server it connects to to setup, as
rather unintuitive.

When the user wants to change her REALNAME, she'll do /SET REALNAME.
But this won't have any effect until her next connect. This same
applies when she does /IRCUSER. The /IRCUSER will not be "used" until
her next connect. This seems weird.

Besides this, it seems weird that you have to issue a command for one
of the settings, and a /SET for the other.

I propose these be changed to two sets:
/SET DEFAULT_REALNAME

and
/SET DEFAULT_IRCUSER.

Doing this will make it easier for new users to set this up like the
want, without resorting to weird hacks or environmental variables.

Besides, in epic5, the EPICRC is loaded before any server connects,
so the user will be able to handle all of this in her EPICRC and her
IRC_SERVERS_FILE.

Have a nice day, etc.
Best regards,
Erlend / "howl".
