I just blogged a bit of breakdown of VisualStateManager and how it can be used for animation in Silverlight. I'm also going to post an example code around how VSM + Animation + Line of Business Applications can be a nice marriage. As it help short cut a lot of user interaction hurdles - namely "How do I reverse an animation if a user triggers an event half way"
