<shrug>
In other words, take the .aux file that is generated by the first LaTeX 
run on the real document file, rather than my simulated

\citation{*}
\bibstyle{${STYLE}}
\bibdata{${BIBNAME}}

Thereafter, the script will produce a LyX file that can be exported as 
text in exactly the format you require.
