Thanks for your reply. Yes, just in the display--I want to be able to make the display line width something approximately similar to a typical outputted page. This helps my writing. Also, this would be for documents classes such as report, article, and letter. Yes, resizing the whole window is one option, but I thought it would be possible to resize a floating window of an open document that is *within* the Lyx display. Rob
