Jerome Glisse is one of (the main??) developer behind the open source R500 driver so if he says he can get power management to work then I'm prone to believe him. From what I understand he also owns an MBP rev 2,2. Has anyone tried out the open source driver yet? Jerome's public post: http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/xorg/2007-June/025506.html suggested that people should try to get involved but this seems a little daunting and, more problematically, very time consuming and I don't have much time.
