I am willing to be a moderator/administrator, though I don't have much
time and am frequently not available. I used to be active on the old
OOo forums but dropped out during one of the years that I wasn't doing
much of anything with OOo.
As well as being great for user support (especially for those users
who don't want to read mailing lists), forums are a good source of
questions and answers that should be covered in user documentation, so
they fit in well with what I am already doing at Docs. I should, of
course, pay more attention to ask.LO as well.
Of course, I agree with everyone who says we should not set up a forum
unless we're reasonable sure we have enough people to run it. In that
regard, some discreet private enquiries to a few selected people
active on the AOO forums might be in order. Some of them may be there
as much or more to help LO users as AOO users and they might be happy
to help on our forums as well or even switch entirely to ours. As LO
and AOO continue to diverge in features, it becomes more relevant and
logical to have separate forums.
