Hi. This is a very old bug. Use 'Advanced chown' and modify
owner, group, or other for chmod. Then modify owner or group
for chown.
After you use chown and accept the new value by pressing Enter,
the screen for chmod shows the initial values, not what you
changed, but by using 'Set' Midnight Commander works as
expected.
