Larry:

The drain for the radiator should be on the passenger side, up inside a hole in the frame (it it's like the 87 300D, anyway). Screwdriver is the only tool requried, very easy.

You will have to get under the car, or persuade someone else to, though.

Everything is is up top. Remove the duct for the intake between filter housing and turbo (may be more for you, I'm not familiar with the 91 setup). Thermostat hosing is on the side of the block two screws. No sealant on the gasket, use anit-seize on the bolts so they don't get stuck (aluminum parts!). T-stat won't fit to seal if you don't have the notch over the tab.

Fan comes off easily IF you have a tool to hold it while removing the single bolt in the center (13mm hex socket head if I remember correctly). On the older ones, a coat hanger wire will lock the fan clutch, but I don't know about the newer ones. Fan will have to come off, I think.
