Apparently because of the caveat. IIRC AIGLX marks this visual as
non-conformant to prevent it from getting preferred with apps that can't
deal with the X visual having alpha bits, of which there are still quite
a few.

Not sure how to deal with this, but FWIW
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=6689 is the bug.
