Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge
Long Meadow Lake Unit
Bass Ponds Trailhead

Our group today enjoyed a pleasant walk at the Bass Ponds.  With lots of birds 
singing and lots of birds seen.

Here are a few of the species we observed today:

Trumpeter Swan
Green Heron
Ruby-throated Hummingbird
Eastern Wood-Pewee – Heard only
Willow Flycatcher
Great Crested Flycatcher – Heard only
Yellow-throated Vireo
Warbling Vireo
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher
Cedar Waxwing – Nesting
Yellow-headed Blackbird

Here are the dates of some upcoming walks at the Refuge:
June 17 – Louisville Swamp Unit
June 19 – Bass Ponds
June 24 – Rapids Lake Unit
June 25 – Bloomington Visitor Center
